Limerick Day

Spoiler alert: this might be a little naughty.

There was a young man from Brighton
Who thought he’d at last found a tight ‘un.
He said, “Oh my love,
It fits like a glove.”
Said she, “But you’re not in the right ‘un.”

Today we celebrate the birth of English writer Edward Lear, who was born in 1812,  and
wrote his ‘Book of Nonsense’ of 72 limericks in 1846. The book was a huge success, not only making the author popular, but also boosting the limerick into popular culture across the world. And I'm pretty sure he did not write the limerick above. I just thought it was funny.
